Groups

Home Groups are a vital part of building a healthy church community. It is in home groups that relationships get built. It is out of the strength of these godly relationships that the priesthood of all believers grow in maturity and grow in ministry (Eph 4:12-13). Both leadership and unity are essential for growth (Eph 4:3 & 11).

This helps to make the church effective and resilient. (Eph 4:16 & 14). And it is these two essential qualities that will help the church build dynamically function effectively and represent God and his Kingdom here on earth.

The Book of Acts gives us a strategic PATTERN for the apostolic mandate. We can see from the above Scriptures that meeting in the HOMES was a vital part of that strategy.

The first church in Jerusalem met in HOMES (Acts 2). The church in Philippi was aided by Lydia’s HOME (Acts 16). Paul’s base in Ephesus used HOMES (Acts 20). And in the end in Rome it is a HOME that enables Paul to meet and preach and teach (Acts 28).
